Google "Obama dictator."   Best to prepare yourself before this endeavor --some may use prayer, I prefer tequila.  Why? Your screen will be filled with page after page of some deeply vicious and demented bullshit.  Since every one who believes this crap has long- term memory loss, let me refresh their faulty memory chips. Presidential power has been a contentious issue for a long-time.

In the early '60s, Schlesinger wrote about the Imperial Presidency. When have presidents acted "imperially?"  To steal a sweet line from Browning "Let me count [just a few of] the ways."

Abraham Lincoln (1863) --Emancipation Proclamation was an executive order

Teddy Roosevelt (1903) -- Columbia wouldn't sell us area for Panama Canal so TR supported Panamanian rebels in gaining independence from Columbia and giving us control of the canal.

Truman and Korean War -- under guise of supporting UN

JFK and "regime change" in Vietnam -- under the rubric of crass imperialism

Nixon invading Cambodia

George H.W Bush invading Panama

Reagan invading Grenada and bombing Libya--plus IranGate

Clinton and our involvement in Somalia and Kosovo

George W and numerous "signing statements" that turned Congressional intent on its head.

Obama has used the powers granted under Bush "to combat terror whenever, however, and whoever---which means drones galore in Afghanistan, then Syria, Somalia, etc.

I could go on, but why?

BUT, let's get real.  For US interest groups, the real problem with Obama's imperial tendencies is his desire to  reduce gun violence and do some crap that is faintly liberal.  Uh Oh!  Mention guns, and all the freaks come off their medications. Act like you want to help real people, and the Koch brothers recognize you for the commie pinko you truly are.

Tell you what.  Spend a bit of time under a real dictator and you will understand how truly silly-assed u are

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

  •  He's a dictator for 2 reasons: (7+ / 0-)

First, he's a democrat and the repugs are always going to accuse dems of being the worst EVAH!

    Second, he's black. Nuff said.

People supposedly interested in politics are not really interested at all. Common sense, history, how government/business/society works, and really basic human decency are all left by the wayside in favor of ignorant hyperbole. A single unexamined sentence results in a pile-on of a verbal crucifixion. It's gotten old, and depressing.

And, just like the Obama administration has done, the Bush administration made strategic decisions to delay or transition some key elements of the Part D program in response to technical and timing difficulties. A few examples of such decisions are below:

    * Delayed plan choice for dual eligibles.
    * Emergency transition assistance.
    * Waiver of late enrollment penalty.
    * Delayed enforcement of medication therapy management.
    * Officials delayed key elements of the law’s methodology for calculating beneficiaries’ share of drug plan premiums in order to keep premiums lower than projected.

  •  some would be there whatever (black) obama did (0+ / 0-)

but we've got right wing radio to cheerlead it and make it acceptable.

if the radio gods like limbaugh can call him a dictator on a regular basis from 1200 radio stations, many of which have college sports logos legitimizing them, it becomes much more acceptable.

and actually, that term dictator for obama is so irrational it's likely it wouldn't just pop into the racist mind without prompting. the 'dictator' label plays into the rest of their profile they've invented for obama.

This is a list of 76 universities for Rush Limbaugh that endorse global warming denial, racism, sexism, and GOP lies by broadcasting sports on over 170 Limbaugh radio stations.

Is that these vile, bigoted, right-wing, lying asswipes seem to not comprehend the fact that if Obama was a communist, fascist, Kenyan, really bad not nice dictator guy like say a Hitler or a Stalin they would in all likelihood be in a shallow grave with a bullet or two in their feeble little brains. Since none of them ever turn up missing, I think it's time they stfu on this lie.

... and they all moved away from me on the group "W" bench....

  •  The JFK part's not accurate, if I remember (0+ / 0-)

correctly.  Wasn't that Dulles acting on his own, & didn't Kennnedy blow up when he heard?  Also Eisenhower-Dulles coop-ed & killed all over the world.

  •  Don't forget the "Obama will crush you with (0+ / 0-)

his iron grip because he's ruthless/dictatorial/evil/etc" while, out of the other side of their collective mouth, you hear "He's weak; he panders to the UN; he's soft on terrorism; he doesn't have the balls to be president/etc etc."
