First of all, several others have reported on what a corker a certain tn senatwhore is, especially Sandy on Signal. I recommend that ewe go and read those fine works.

This diary is simply a comment on one very small segment, one solitary issue, and perhaps the most logical explanation that may explain the Reich Wing's obsession over VW's labor intentions.

The Word

Three Words for the one true god under the sky,
Seven for the Liberal in their hearts of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Guy on his dark throne,
In the Land of Merica where the Shadows lie,
One word to rule them all, one word to find them,
One word to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Merica where the Shadows lie.
And that word is FEAR.

From the church on Ineffable Stupidity:

For years, no, decades, the Reich Wing and a small, very rich and powerful group has been systematically lying to people, scaring them, threatening them, and forcing them to accept policies and economic rationales that are simply untrue.

They took direct aim at labor organizations, and sued, harassed, prosecuted, and blackmailed members and leaders. At the same time, they began a campaign based on the most fundamental lie imaginable - that union membership hurts you and your job.

Because of the years long effort, states like Tennessee passed laws that effectively destroyed organized labor and precluded any effort to organize. At the same time, they kept telling workers that if they did organize, their jobs would be gone. Working conditions became closer in style to sweatshops, and safety decreased.   (Don't get me started on workers comp "reform" in the south).

They successfully used fear to control the masses, the workers, into hating unions and voting against their best interests.

ENTER STAGE LEFT: VW demands union labor.

Why? Because unions own a part of and run the company.

Why? Because Corker sees the light.

If VW is successful, they will open a labor friendly, well compensated, safe place to work. This puts decades of lies up and center for everyone in Tennessee to see. And that means other workers will start to demand their own rights.

Corker realizes that this one move can destroy the decades long anti-labor status quo in that state. And that scares the shit out of his puppet masters.

FEAR it seems, has moved over to the side of the Kochs, the Corkers, and anti-labor company bosses who seriously fear having their lies and decades of deceit outed.

FEAR now seems good, doesn't it?

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
