I am not a teacher. I'm just a parent. But waiting for the results of the last round of bargaining between the Portland Association of Teachers and Portland Public Schools is so tough.
I know this is just a shell of a diary, but it's been a very hard 11 months, an even tougher few weeks and an interminable day and evening.
We love our teachers. I hope they stand strong. Families are ready for a strike, if that's what it takes. PPS has been so horrid.
Thanks for hanging out with a strike-supporting parent. We're all so nervous as the teachers' union combs through the district's offer. PPS has proven themselves to be okay with union-busting. So hard to deal with horrid leadership at the district level.
Strength to the teachers. The parents are behind you.
