George Zimmerman wants people to leave him alone. And he's on a media tour telling us so. Oh, and he's
the real victim here.
In an interview with CNN’s Chris Cuomo, Zimmerman said he believes that in his trial for the killing of Florida teen Trayvon Martin he faced a “miscarriage of justice,” and he described himself as a “scapegoat.”
“A scapegoat for [what]?” Cuomo asked.
“The government, the president, the attorney general,” responded Zimmerman, who was acquitted in the trial. “I don’t know what they’re thinking or why they’re thinking it, all I know is that they’re doing it. I don’t know what agenda they have.”
Yes, yes, it's all a plot against him. There used to be a time in this county when you could kill a black teenager and not even have to stand trial, but now we're all "you have to stand trial for that."
What is America coming to.
“Do you regret that you killed Trayvon Martin?” Cuomo asked.
“Unfortunately, the Department of Justice is conducting a civil rights investigation,” Zimmerman said. “Certainly, I think about that night and I think my life would be tremendously easier if I stayed home.”
Zimmerman also complains that he's homeless, unemployed and
suffering from PTSD. He's also frustrated that "people recognize him everywhere", a problem that seems difficult to solve if you're going on CNN, Univision and other networks to publicly complain about it.
