The RW press machine has been churning out dire messages about the FCC's Critical Information Needs (CIN) study that proposes, among other things, to monitor the behavior of news rooms' reporting of news. It is an optional questioner that the FCC would send to news organizations, and would ask such basic questions as the News Philosophy of the organization, target demographics, what constitutes critical information, etc...
It is naturally Fox News and the Wall Street Journal that screech the loudest. This in itself should lead many to support the effort of the FCC even without knowing the particulars (which these related news organizations surely do).
A democracy can not function when supposed news outlets publish false or misleading information - the public has a right to know what the truth is. And that is all the study proposes to do, to inform the public of biases in reporting. Let's let our representatives know that we support the original study of the FCC without changes.
