The theme of the Sheridan for Congress campaign is People First!  In keeping with that theme, Tim is committed to recognizing the efforts of everyone who participates in the campaign.  Running for office is truly a group effort, so Tim insisted that the campaign website highlight the entire team.  There is a page with photos and bios of his campaign staff.  It’s a small thing, but Tim believes it is important to walk the walk of making his campaign about putting People First.

In addition, one of the ways we can tell that the Sheridan campaign is gaining steam is the increasing number of elected officials, political leaders, and others who have endorsed Tim Sheridan.  Tim is meeting with people at every opportunity, and demonstrating to everyone that he is the right candidate to unseat the Republican incumbent in CA-42, Ken Calvert.

We know that success breeds success, so please follow us below the fold to learn more about many of the individuals and groups who have endorsed Tim’s campaign so far.  We are honored that so many recognized leaders in the Democratic Party and the progressive community have come out in support of our campaign.
Here are the links to learn more about our campaign to put CA-42 in the “D” column, and as always, please consider contributing $5 or more:

Bill Hedrick – Democratic Cadidate in CA-44 in 2008, 2010

Many long time Kossacks will remember Bill Hedrick as running a very strong campaign against Ken Calvert in 2008 and 2010, before the 2010 redistricting.  Bill lost by only four points in 2008 – 48-52.  Bill has remained active in politics, and we are extremely proud that he has endorsed our campaign!

Tim and Alex

Alex Padilla – California State Senator (SD-20) and Candidate for CA Secretary of State

Alex is a rising star in California politics, and we think he will make a fantastic Secretary of State, following in the footsteps of Debra Bowen.  He currently represents Senate District 20, in the San Fernando Valley, just to the west of Riverside County.  Alex’s endorsement means a lot, especially in advance of the California Democratic Party’s convention in March.

Tim and Richard

Richard Roth – CA State Senator – SD-31

Richard represents the Senate District 31 in Riverside County.  His support is especially helpful as much of his district overlaps with CA-42.  Richard is serving his first term as a State Senator, after an expensive and bruising election that topped $7 million.  Why so expensive for a state race?  His victory in 2012 helped give Democrats the 2/3 majority in the State Senate that was critical to breaking the Republican veto power.  Republicans will definitely be back, so consider supporting Richard to keep Riverside County Blue, and the State Senate in Democratic control.

Tom Schaller
Tom Schaller – Author

Tom is an old friend of Tim Sheridan’s going back to their college days.  But it is Tom’s incredibly deep knowledge of politics, and his work to change Democrats’ perceptions of electoral strategy that is truly impressive, so we are very proud to receive Tom’s endorsement for this campaign.

The San Bernardino/Riverside Counties Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO.
San Bernardino/Riverside Counties Building and Construction Trades Council.

The endorsements of the Central Labor Council and the Building and Construction Trades Council mean so much to Tim personally.  Tim’s ties to the Union community run deep.  He has been working for a Union for the past 18 years.  He, grew up in a Union household where his dad was a Teamster, and Tim’s wife belongs to a union as an airline attendant.  Tim’s commitment to working people of America is the main reason he is running for Congress in the first place.

Suzan Wilkinson – Regional Director, California Democratic Party, Region 19

Suzan serves as an Officer for the California Democratic Party under John Burton’s leadership.  Region 19 covers Assembly Districts 42, 56, 67, and 71, which includes much of Riverside County.  Suzan is an amazing Regional Director, and we are extremely proud to have her endorsement.

Tim and Francine
Francine Busby – Sand Diego County Democratic Party Chair

In addition to serving as the Party Chair in San Diego, many Kossacks will recognize Francine from her campaigns in CA-50 to unseat Republicans Randy “Duke” Cunningham and Brian Bilbray.  Although CA-42 does not include any of San Diego County, many residents of Riverside County work in San Diego County, and we are honored to receive her endorsement.

Tim and Bob
Bob Hamilton – Democratic Candidate – CA-49

Bob ran against Darrell Issa in 2008.  His experience of what it’s like to run against a Republican who loves negative campaigning has been invaluable.  We are extremely proud to have Bob’s endorsement.

Democracy for America, Riverside Chapter

Tim is a big supporter of Howard Dean and Democracy for America.  The endorsement by the Riverside Chapter means we are eligible for endorsement by the national organization.  In order to receive their endorsement, we need your vote!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
