In a potential five way match up for Louisiana governor, New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu leads David Vitter by eight points. On the downside for the Democrats is that the three Republicans combine for 45% of the vote while the two Democrats combine for only 41% of the vote. But that is closer than Democrats have been to the GOP field since the election of Kathleen Blanco in 2003. 12% were undecided. However, the Louisiana governor's race isn't until 2015.
While Mary Landrieu's lead has eroded since her January 2013 high, she has narrowly regained her lead 45-44 over Bill Cassidy after an onslaught of negative advertisement by the Koch brothers led SuperPac Americans for Prosperity.
I think that a close race goes to Landrieu in the Senate, because historically she always manages to pull out a close race, and with her extremely popular brother working on her behalf in the New Orleans area, it can only be a plus.
