The Third Way's pathetic attempt to game liberal capitalists by publishing their attack on kos in Politico is a cynical attempt by the GOP-funded media outlet to drive a wedge for the 2014-2016 cycles. Rehabilitating the DLC via Turd Way only gives the centrists in the Democratic party ammunition to demonize Progressives that ultimately fizzles because kos easily refuted their manipulation of facts and simultaneously respun the populist meme. Pyrrhic Victory, centrists, pound sand....
But Third Way’s attacks on me and my fellow progressives have never been about tolerance for disagreement—it’s always been about policy. And they’re losing the argument, now more than ever. Given America’s pressing economic problems, it is clear to the vast majority of Democrats that Wall Street isn’t part of the solution, it’s part of the problem. And a Democratic group that relentlessly promotes Wall Street’s agenda is as welcome among the progressive base as cholera.
Bennett and Kessler are right about one thing, however. The Democratic tent isn’t big enough for those who privilege the wants of Wall Street over the needs of working Americans. Read more:

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

Just not in the way they intended.

The Turd way has been exposed as being full of bull shit and they're now the butt of jokes.

Nobody other than some old time political inside the beltway bubble hacks will pay them any respect.  Hopefully Dem Party leaders won't either.  We saw what happened in 2012 and even 2010 when Dems ran on solid progressive ideals.  They won and won and won some more.  You can count the number of solid credible progressives who lost on your hands in 2010 and 2012.  On the other hand, the Dems who ran on the Turd Way platform of austerity and right wing economic bullshit got wiped out.  The DLC is done.  The Blue Dog Coalition got hammered in 2010 and again in 2012.  After 2014 the Blue Dog coalition will likely be in the single digits and what's left has mostly migrated to the New Dem Coalition.  Even moderate Dems like Allison Schwartz are beginning to disassociate themselves from the Turd Way and what it stands for.  Dems who would typically align themselves with the Turd Way like Mark Begich are instead offering proposals and fighting for issues that are contrary to the goals of the Turd Way, like enhancing and expanding Social Security while Turd Way is pushing for cutting and gutting it instead.

This was just a death rattle and all they accomplished was to gain some attention so their death would become a public spectacle instead of a silent fade out.

The big question is whether Hillary will cozy up to them.

..their true nature - republicanistic "conservative" movement agenda with the yawning divide created by real Dems holding their ground, refusing to head further to the extreme right wing.
Forced to show their true colors:

But I sort of pity the Third Way guys. They’ve had a rough few months. Back in December, they were laughed out of the room when Kessler and Jon Cowan, Third Way’s president, argued in the Wall Street Journal that cutting Social Security benefits would prove popular electoral politics.

     - emphasis added

No way to bridge that gap:
Third Way’s and its “centrist” allies have spent decades building a Beltway elitist consensus on the need to slash the safety net.

It must tear them up seeing all that hard work evaporate over the span of a few years—with their economic ideas now on the party fringe, they have nothing left to do but cry persecution.

Standing strong on progressive policy is key - we'll see more third way adherents exposed for the Wall street shills they really are and which Dems have earned our support becomes more clear

    Good looking out annieli :)

Third Way are a bunch of losers. Like OFA,  it's all about a paycheck to them, and not a very big one at that.  Both groups sell their skills pretty cheap.

That's all they ask. Hardly anything at all. :(

And God said, "Let there be light"; and with a Big Bang, there was light. And God said "Ow! Ow My eyes!" and in a flash God separated light from darkness. "Whew! Now that's better. Now where was I. Oh yea . . ."
