I was incredibly troubled after watching the Chris Hayes' interview with Americans for Prosperity's Pennsylvania Regional Director Jennifer Stefano.
It took some time to figure out what had made me so uncomfortable (besides her voice, facial expressions and mannerisms). It wasn't the lies, though there were plenty. It certainly wasn't the mathematical misrepresentation. No, what actually bothered me was the one thing she said that was truthful (for her). . .
Chris Hayes: "Why does extending the deadline for 2 weeks mean taking away the choices you have for your children?"
Jennifer Stefano: "It will not allow people to go back and change this law."
In other words she is saying, "If they keep postponing the deadline then enough people might enroll to make the ACA economically sustainable, (it is already by the way) and if this happens then we won't ever be able to end the ACA and "We must get rid of Obamacare to protect our freedoms of choice"
Now, this might seem like a normal rightwing talking point and, as you will see below, it is! But what makes this so revealing is WHO THIS PERSON IS WORKING FOR!
Whose freedom of choice is she really protecting? Not her own children's choice and freedoms, the ACA actually gives her MORE choices (and subsidies) for her children's healthcare. . .
So, whose freedoms does the Americans for Prosperity group protect?
And then it dawned on me. The Koch Brothers and the Dark Money Groups, and even the ENTIRE GOP, have been simply trying to maintain the current state of a two-tiered America.
She is afraid that the continued operation of the Affordable Care Act will soon reveal the two-tiered healthcare system that is currently in operation within the United States.

.
Top Hospitals Opt Out of Obamacare
"Many (Hospital Group) companies have selectively entered the exchanges because they are concerned that (the exchanges) will be dominated by risky, high-using populations who wanted insurance (before Obamacare) and couldn't afford it," said Wilsensky, who is also on the board of directors of UnitedHealth. "They are pressed to narrow their networks to stay within the premiums."
U.S. News and World Report, October 10, 2013
.
.
As soon as people begin to wake up and realize that these hospitals won't allow access to the Affordable Care Act because of "those people", it will be GAME ON for economic recovery in America.
So, while this doesn't really affect Jennifer Stefano directly, it does affect her oligarch paymasters. She is fighting fiercely for their goals to maintain their freedoms. . .
The freedom to keep those damn poor people out of their hospitals
I watched the expression on Chris Hayes' closely during the interview. This diary shows how it started.
But then I watched as Chris' expression slowly shifted from amused to incredulous, to exasperated and finally to "what the hell? and how did I end up with a blithering insane person on my show?" His post-interview tweet was telling
His smug beltway genteel slowly was unpinned by the understanding that the rightwing has successfully groomed a significant portion of the public to become so reactionary, so afraid, so manipulated in thought, so perverse in their scientific, economic and moral understanding, that they are actually, completely, crazy.
She, and the rest of the indoctrinated rightwing are tools of the Gilded Elite, those who wish to MAINTAIN the two-tiered system of U.S. healthcare and economic society. They have successfully removed our economic and social welfare and convinced a portion of our population to destroy our functional government.
We in the United States have been subjected to a 30-year agenda of economic and social destabilization combined with a well-funded, highly effective rightwing disinformation/propaganda machine.
We need 24 million new jobs

The Powell Memo
Business must learn the lesson, long ago learned by labor and other self-interest groups. This is the lesson that political power is necessary; that such power must be assidously (sic) cultivated; and that when necessary, it must be used aggressively and with determination — without embarrassment and without the reluctance which has been so characteristic of American business.
-The Powell Memo
From 1980 to 1992,
George H.W. Bush ran the presidency for a senile actor who spent his entire political career working from a daily script. He took the reigns of presidency in 1988. He established the groundwork for the collapse of the United States into the present feudal system that we have now become. They attacked unions and fought communism and prepared for a "free market revolution"
.
.
The recovery has almost now gained the jobs lost in 2008
Job growth during recovery rate averages 189,277 Jobs per Month
In the 1990's Bill Clinton enacted NAFTA, changed the way we monitor the unemployment rate, enacted crushing welfare reform, oversaw the buildup of a massive credit bubble by Alan Greenspan and signed into law the
Financial Services Modernization Act of 1999 that set the stage for the current economic collapse we are experiencing.
.
.
But the current rate of job growth is barely above the level needed to keep up with population
Labor growth rate in the 1990s shows what kind of growth our economy needs to keep unemployment low and make up for population growth - 139,409 jobs per month.
In 2000
George W. Bush became president and the U.S. was plunged into a destabilizing recession. After 9/11, he engaged in 2 unfunded wars while lowering the tax rate on the wealthiest individuals. This was argued at the time to be a strategy for destroying domestic spending in the future. At the end of his term, he finished off the United States.
Under our constitutional system, especially with an activist-minded Supreme Court, the judiciary may be the most important instrument for social, economic and political change.
-The Powell Memo
.
.
To find our way back to a circa 2000 labor participation rate AND at a reasonable REAL unemployment rate (allowing those who have since dropped out of the labor pool to come back in, like they did in 1999) We need over 22 million additional jobs, RIGHT NOW
Using historical employment numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, since the beginning of the Bush Collapse in 2000, The united states has developed a 22,269,000 job deficit.
In 2008 we got to have
Barack Obama, a messenger of Hope and Change. We barely got to miss out on having another Clinton in the White House. He immediately removed the economic council that got him into the Whitehouse and instead put into power the same individuals who destroyed the U.S. economy in the first place. Efforts to increase government stimulus were thwarted and the defense of real stimulus was tepid. The supreme court ruled that Corporations were people and that unlimited dark money spending was "free speech". In our greatest moment of peril, with the most empowered president in the last 60 years, Obama took a vacation.
We needed double the job growth rate that we got. And now the U.S. is on the edge of total collapse into regionalized enclaves of wealthy and vast regions of abandoned barrios filled with working poor, marginalized underclass citizens.
.
.
If things continue the way they have been during the last 6 years, an additional 37,000 people must drop out of the Labor force each month and join the growing permanent underclass
The previous 5 years of job growth has fallen below the required level needed to prevent the establishment of a permanent underclass within the United States.
. . .maybe having another Clinton will help us, what if she is actually running against Jeb Bush? What does that make America look like in the eyes of the world?
.
At this point, the only thing that will save this country (and likely the world) is a World War II style Government-Led total workforce mobilization in response to the existential threat of global warming.
We need to create 24 million new jobs in the next 4 years or face a total societal collapse.
