To celebrate. To honor. And to remember.
On Saturday, April 12, the Northwest Nazarene University baseball team will celebrate with those who have won their fight against cancer, honor those currently battling the disease and whose lives have been changed by cancer, and remember those who have been taken by the disease at the Crusaders annual Cancer Awareness Day.
This special event begins at noon at NNU’s Elmore Vail Baseball Field located on W. Dewey Ave. in Nampa. Following a pre-game ceremony, everyone is invited to stay and cheer the Crusaders on to victory in their scheduled Great Northwest Athletic Conference doubleheader against Central Washington. First pitch is set for 12:30 p.m.
In honor of the day, the Crusaders will wear special pink uniforms for the doubleheader.
Prior to the game, join in a special ceremony to celebrate, honor and remember, as anyone whose life has been touched by cancer will be invited onto the Crusaders field as part of this special event.
Admission is free, and there will be special fund-raising events during the day with proceeds going to the fight against cancer.
