People are always saying that Cars kill as many people as Guns,  I have this fantastic idea…let’s treat Guns like Cars.

Licenses that prove you are competent enough to operate a gun. In order to be able to operate a gun you would need to complete a series of gun safety and education classes, then you would be issued a learners permit and you would need to log at least 60 hours at the gun range with a licensed gun-owner learning how to safely operate your gun, the gun remains at the gun range or with that licensed gun-owner. Then you would need to complete a gun test, in order to get your actual gun license.

Registration, absolutely imperative, if your gun harms my child or someone I care about, I have every legal right to know who owns the weapon that harmed my child and  I will either sue you or make sure you go to jail. If you are going to have access to a deadly weapon, the public deserves to know who is operating that deadly weapon.

Insurance, well of course and to operate a gun in the public you would need to carry liability insurance of at least a million dollars, treating gun injuries are costly and god-forbid you killed someone with your gun. That million is going to go very fast.

Education for misdemeanor offenses, and possible confiscation of your gun license for 60 days while you complete a gun rehabilitation program.

Suspension of gun license for multiple offenses, and mandatory jail time if you kill someone with your gun. Severe jail time for weapons used under the influence and your gun insurance would of course go up.

Yes Let's Make GUNS and CARS Equal.....

By the way no one wants to Confiscate your guns, we want to Legislate your guns an example of how we want to do it is above.

Legislate,  confiscate two different words, two different meanings, Your paranoia about tyranny doesn't make them mean the same thing, grow the fuck-up.

Legislate means: to make laws, : to control, create, or cause (something) by making laws

Confiscate means: to take (something) away from someone especially as punishment or to enforce the law or rules.

Got that Alex Jones, understand the difference you paranoid gun freaks?

It was no secret that the British host of  the recently cancelled Piers Morgan Live on CNN is no fan of U.S. gun laws.

During the course of his show’s 3 year run, Morgan has had some epic on-air exchanges with the “2nd-amendment patriot” types, and – in a moment that will go down in US history – prodded the king of gun nuts InfoWars Alex Jones to have a colossal meltdown that blew across the internet at breakneck speed. One Republican Oklahoma state Senator went as far as naming pro-gun legislation after him.

Piers Morgan who was very out spoken about U.S. Gun Laws summed it up nicely on his last show:

“…I assumed that after 70 people were shot in a movie theater, and then just a few months later, 20 first-graders were murdered with an assault rifle in an elementary school, that the absurd gun laws in this country would change – but nothing has happened. The gun lobby… lead by the NRA, has bullied this countries’ politicians into cowardly supine silence. Even when 20 young children are blown away in their classrooms. This is a shameful situation…”

Many of us assumed the same things as well, but we are idiots here in the United States and we have been indoctrinated into believing we need guns to be safe, when the opposite is true. We are fools who have blindly without question allowed our own fears to be marketed and sold right back to us, and like fools we buy into the fear of needing a gun, our fears have cost us dearly and they will continues to cost us, until we stand up to the NRA bullies and tell them to FUCK OFF.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
