Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! The videos on my computer run so slowly, and jerkily, it is almost impossible to watch. There has to be a fix - because I used to have great video display.
I have Windows XP and use Firefox as a browser. In the past few days, I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, Adobe Flash, Real Player. I have disabled hardware acceleration. I have an old Microsoft Silverlight listed as a program, but am unable to uninstall it (it says it can't be found) yet cannot download a new Silverlight (it corrupts and is unable to complete a download)
Clearly, I admit I know little to nothing about computers. I'm a point and click person.
I used to have great video playback, but after I updated Firefox a while back, it went to crap and I haven't been able to fix it since. I have been through every Firefox suggestion I have been able to find.
I would be eternally grateful for any computer-savvy suggestions. I don't know what service we could trade off, but I would be willing to offer something in exchange!
Thanks in advance to my fellow Kossacks.
Update: Thank you everyone for all the good suggestions, I'll try everything easy suggested first, then move up the expense ladder. I really, REALLY appreciate all the free advice. Very grateful!
