Something tells me that Christie's predictions about tax revenues were bogus to start with.  Suddenly there's a shortfall and "nothing is off the table".

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

The great, all knowing Chris Christie is the Guv.  How could
this happen?  Everybody loved the guy.  All his constituents
    drooled over him.

Hmmmmm.... looks like the mighty one has not only stumbled but now his big rump is sitting on an $800 MILLION dollar shortfall.

lust for power, have to inflict hurt. It goes with the territory. Good guys are not perceived as powerful. That's why Obama is described as weak.

The Cons are royalists at heart. That's why they favor the acronym POTUS. It reminds them of Pontius Pilate and pontificate. Pontificating is what they like to do.

The tax cuts and loopholes go to the same greedsters, of course.

It's all the same pay-off: you buy me the governor's mansion and I'll steer even money your way.

to destroy unions & working people's livelihood. It's another way to destroy the middle class. Since republicons are agents of the greedy rotten rich, it makes their oppression of us easier.

Since many in the American middle class vote to screw other people, they didn't know they were voting to screw their ancestors, themselves & progeny by voting for the evil greedy rotten Rs.

if her ridiculously high property taxes had been reduced since the Chris Chrispy took over. She said "no, they never go down, only up"

Guess it's just the poverty of austerity that's to blame.

(although I have always despised Christie), part of the problem is that, even while he has been trying to cut pensions, he has been trying to make good for 20 years of his predecessors skipping or skimping on pension fund contributions.

On the other hand, although the immediate problem is revenue shortfalls, the targets that revenues have fallen short of are artificial and inflated targets that the Christie administration put in place to justify their policies, including cutting the income tax.
