This is absolutely insane, another probe to waste the time of legislators who simply want to score points and get in the news. When I consider the Monica Lewinsky affair, the Vince Foster investigations, the constant 8 year investigations of Real Estate and Paula Jones and Linda Tripp and Jennifer Flowers and all the other Bullshit that never went anywhere I just get furious.  But here we are with another Democrat in office and the same shit is happening all over with Obamacare and Benghazi and....

It's a never ending story, and they will never change the playbook.  We must start fighting fire with fire.  Every time some republican idiot goes into a stall at an airport and assumes a wide stance we should grab that story and investigate the daylights out of it.

And did I speak about George Bush?  Why the fuck did Obama ever come into office and ignore the torture, the false weapons of mass destruction, the Afghan screw up?  How is it he managed to fuck up the economy so totally that we now have become a third world country that owes it's soul to China and nobody, nobody on Wall Street has gone to Jail?  If ever there was an administration that deserved investigation after investigation it was George Bush!  Why have democrats simply bent over and taken it?

We need to change our strategy, and do unto others what they do to us.  We need to make sure that the minute a republican litters, the entire press coprse yells about it for a year.  We need to groom Progressive Hannity's and Limbaugh's that will stop at nothing to show what slime balls these people really are.  And that includes the Religious Wrongs that stoke the fires of the right wing nut jobs so they can cash in and collect every Sunday.

We need to declare war, because they've declared it on us.  And they take no prisoners, and neither should we.  It's time to fight as dirty as they do.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

  •  It seems to me that the only way to counter (0+ / 0-)

the continuing inane bullsh*t the GOP is pulling EVERY day to undermine the Obama Administration (and the American people) is to aggressively push back against their insane ramblings each and every day in the media.

I agree with your opinion completely:

We need to declare war, because they've declared it on us.  And they take no prisoners, and neither should we.  It's time to fight as dirty as they do.
They are clearly prepared to continue to be the kamikazes in our political system.

America's LAST HOPE: vote the GOP OUT in 2014 elections. MAKE them LOSE the House Majority and reduce their numbers in the Senate. Democrats move America forward - Republicans take us backward and are KILLING OUR NATION!

Democrats don't take on entrenched interests, like existing or previous Republican administrations...

This leaves the door wide open for Republicans to whine that the Democrats are just blaming everything on the Republicans. Because the Democrats never bother to nail the coffin...

Words In Action long as Republicans are pulling this Benghazi crap, Democrats should start insisting on a War Crimes tribunal for George Walker Bush and his administration.

After all of the investigations, so far, Republicans have come up with the following: a public relations person edited one talking point for spokespeople.

In contrast, the previous administration lied us into war, killing thousands of U.S. soldiers and tens of thousands of innocent men, women and Iraqi children, all for no good reason.

Republicans insist that "four dead people" are the reason for their ongoing political sideshow.

Don't they care about the needless deaths of thousands of soldiers and tens of thousands of innocent civilians?

  •  At first I thought this was a typo: (0+ / 0-)
    the entire press coprse
But in context, there is NO WAY in heck this is going to happen:,
We need to make sure that the minute a republican litters, the entire press corps yells about it for a year.
So I'm hoping to meet that coprse of actual reputable journalists that are going to actually do their jobs.

Then I'll hold out hope. But right now, half the time, even regulars on MSNBC act as GOP apologists when there are scandals until/unless winds blow enough to let them know its safe to side with Truth. PBS? NPR? Forget it...

    So I'm not really hopeful.

  •  If we become like them, they win (0+ / 0-)

They are playing a cynical race to the bottom in which the prize is an electorate so disengaged from the system that they give up hope, thus allowing the oligarchs complete control.

If you play their game, they win.

If we don't, the other side will merely win some battles on the way to losing the war.

    •  One way to think about it the way the (0+ / 0-)

diarist seems to be talking about:

You get their hearts and minds when you have them by the short hairs.

The one MAJOR complaint I have about Dems is they just roll over, put their legs up and pee. The way subservient dogs do when they meet an alpha dog.

You don't have to lie (like the Rethugs), you don't have to blow things way out of proportion (like the Rethugs), you just have to present the truth, fully and with facts to back it up.

That is NO WAY being like the Rethugs. But we must start fighting the Big Lie with the truth. Vehemently, honestly and often! How else are we going to get our democracy back?

There's gotta be a way for the Administration to covertly leak a lot of damaging documents from the Bush era to the press.  They must have access to this stuff.

    •  maroge - it's a felony (0+ / 0-)

to release anything that is classified. Covertly releasing classified information is the kind of activity that can get people impeached or indicted. It's a really bad idea to encourage members of the administration to break the law.

  •  Non-scandal exploitation is free campaign media (0+ / 0-)

GOP can't win on the real issues, so they carpet bomb voters with constant manufactured issues to assure their names are vaguely ever-present in the minds of the public. Voters are too busy trying to make a living to spend a lot of time digging for facts.

It's just taxpayer subsidized campaign funding, which would be OK if they got rid of all the dark money donor funding they take. The only winners are the media that get money for ads and viewers for overly dramatized 'scandals'. Oh, and the uber fat cats of the Hoarder Class win. They get their puppet pols passing custom made legislation, and since they own holding companies that hold media ownership, the $$ they give the pols for ads ends up back in their protected pockets.

Voters have got to wake up and pay attention. And vote.
