Today at 10am there's a Congressional hearing Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee over delays at a VA hospital in Phoenix and elsewhere. What you won't hear is the Real reasons of why many costly problems arise, in all government agencies, at the VA. If you stream or watch on the tube pay real close attention to the questions asked by the Conservatives, especially, on the Congressional panel. Not only asked but how many aren't allowed to be fully answered by those giving testimony, Rep. Miller in the House is great at asking then interfering with any trying to answer by constantly interrupting and with condemning rhetoric.
“Why in 2009 were we still using paper?” VA Assistant Secretary Tommy Sowers “When we came in, there was no plan to change that; we’ve been operating on a six month wait for over a decade.” 27 March 2013
WHY? GOOD QUESTION THOSE SERVED SHOULD ANSWER, added to the past decades and wars of the ignoring of many issues along with the denying they exist! Think PTS, Agent Orange and Desert Storms Gulf War Syndrom, to name but only a very few, most now being addressed under This VA and Executive branch even though grossly, decades and wars from, under funded!!
The real scandal is those Served have yet to Sacrifice, DeJa-Vu all over again!!!
The same lawmakers now subpoenaing and demanding Shinseki resign, and with their flag waving patriots(?) supporting, that rubber stamped the two wars, and all related, costs off the books and on the credit card, quickly abandoning the missions and those sent after 9/11, while doing extremely little for not only the veterans of but also us previous veterans and from the decades and wars before, while once again under a conservative led VA, DeJa-Vu all over again!!
There are two Congressional candidates addressing the real problems.
Moulton: Congress has made 'travesty' of veterans care
05/14/2014 - Blasting Congress as "completely out of touch" with the needs of veterans, Democratic 6th District Congressional candidate Seth Moulton on Tuesday said the only way to fix the veterans' health-care system is by electing people who understand it.
"Any health-care system needs oversight," said Moulton, who served four tours in Iraq with the Marines. "For the VA, Congress is charged with providing that oversight, and it has completely failed."
Speaking by the campus of the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital, Moulton called for improvements in care and oversight, as well as a greater investment in veterans' health care. read more w/video>>>
Congress, and State Legislators, represent the people! And thus the employers, the people served, should be demanding their own Sacrifice as they wave flags while demanding Military and their Families Sacrifice. Followed up by taking care of those surviving as they then join our Military Veterans Community!
Marchbanks criticizes Neugebauer's budget proposal
3/28/2014 - District 19 Democratic Congressional Candidate Neal Marchbanks slammed Incumbent Republican Randy Neugebauer for his testimony before the House Committee on the national budget earlier this week. Specifically, the challenger was critical of Neugebauer's proposed performance-based cuts to the Veterans' Administration.

The veteran population has grown rapidly and the facilities to care for them have not kept pace with this increase. Congress controls the budget for the VA and it is the fault of Congress that the VA does not have enough employees and that the facilities are too small. {note: i.e. Those they represent and are Served!}
I am a veteran and I utilize these facilities regularly, I know these employees are working hard to try to keep up with their jobs. I have nothing but respect for them. They do their jobs and try to serve a growing population with the limited resources we give them. We need a representative in Washington that will work with the VA to improve the services and facilities, not someone who will point fingers and lay blame on hardworking civil servants. read more>>>
"If military action is worth our troops’ blood, it should be worth
our treasure, too" "not just in the abstract, but in the form of a
specific ante by every American." -Andrew Rosenthal 10 Feb. 2013
Neither of these recent wars and long occupations, after quickly abandoning the missions and those sent to accomplish after 9/11, have been paid for, the rubber stamped costs, the private merc army, the CIA's secret prisons, the no bid private contracts of the privatized military contractors, and on and on. But also not the costs as the results of these, and the previous decades and wars from while ignoring many of the issues related by the Veterans of and suffering from. Deficits built are Debt with Interest Payments, thus much of the Veterans Affairs under funded budget is still borrowed as long as the country stays in Deficit due to revenue cuts.
"12 years also is a long time. We now have a lifetime responsibility to a generation of service members, veterans and their families." Dr. Jonathan Woodson 11 Sep. 2013 'With 9/11 Came Lifetime Responsibility'
Two tax cuts, especially huge for the wealthy, with not a bit of guilt conscious for, came with these two recent unpaid for wars, nor the results of, DeJa-Vu all over again from the previous decades and wars from! Ignore the many issues, by those served, no need to fund!
Check who's bringing politics into their Government workplace and the possibility of using that, with no concern to those they're caring for, to cause costly problems and scandals!
Conservative Veterans Affairs Ideology, Fire Gen. Shinseki, because unlike conservative administrations he's actually fighting to build the VA the country should have always had, and he's got the backing and help from this entire executive cabinet, again unlike conservative administrations and conservative congresses!!
"If military action is worth our troops’ blood, it should be worth our treasure, too" "not just in the abstract, but in the form of a specific ante by every American." -Andrew Rosenthal 10 Feb. 2013
Conservative dream of privatizing government, taxes along with the growing list of fee's, trickle up reagan capitalism, for them corporate bottom line profits, not to be shared with the labor that would produce those profits!!
They were Jubilant when conservatives controlled congress and the bush fired the General for being Honest, now their call is being picked up through one of the so called established Veterans organization the American Legion! All were praising the VA during that time, of total conservative control, even though extremely little was being done as the long ignored veterans issues were still being ignored while two more wars, and long occupations from, were being rubber stamped as to costs, still unpaid for, and these younger veterans were joining our veterans community seeking the commitment the Country promises and the Country waved flags, and other symbols, of that 'patriotic' commitment only, DeJa-Vu all over again! Their long want is to privatize government agencies for corporate profit, much more costly, and unregulated running of, just like their national security wars!
