Our primary elections are TOMORROW, Tuesday, May 20th, 2014.

We ALL must show up and vote...we need to get our best available candidates in position to win, and we need to put up big numbers to counter the traditional GOP majority in recent "off year" elections.

Republicans count on Democrats skipping off year elections. Let's prove them wrong and really scare hell out of them this year...Now, and in November.

The Democratic Party is NOT perfect...but consider this - do you really want a complete Republican majority in Congress, no matter WHO is president...now and in 2016.

Get out-show up-vote Democratic this Tuesday!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

I'll be out to support Alison. Hoping to see McConnell take a beating as well....
Candidates know democrats don't turn out for off year elections, which means they need republican votes to win. People who don't vote are causing the democrats to drift right, they can't win without votes. If you want to push back to the left, then vote. If democrats can't win without republican votes, then they will court the republicans and that means they court the right. Either they slide right or lose, either way, we the people lose. So turn out and vote, if we don't vote, we can't win.

on TV talking about how the republicans COUNT on Democrats not voting because they are not in total agreement with specific candidates and also splitting tickets...He made the point that republicans ALWAYS vote republican, even if they don't agree with the candidate and republicans NEVER split tickets.

He stated the GOP has always relied on Democrats sitting out elections...and the 2010 tea bagger takeover of our state legislature and governorship here in PA despite the Democrats having over 1 million more registered voters. We had some marginal candidates, and a lot of people just did not vote, I suppose to "show" the state party something.

Our state has become a disaster as a result.

Once the GOP gets into power, they gerrymander, disenfranchise voters and hang onto power like grim death. We either fight back by voting, or we continue down the road to republican paradise (which I think is called hell).

  •  If Alison Schwartz seems to have a chance I'll (0+ / 0-)

vote for her, if not than Kate McGinty (environmental record). But unfortunately probably Wolf wins, the weakest candidate against Corbett---inexperienced, from south central Pa., probably means no chance for Democrats to take the state senate.

or are you considering writing her in? ;-)

But what do I know? First time I heard of her, I was convinced she was running for a Senate seat in Washington. Then again, I pegged her for a loony entirely based on first impressions.

Should have been "We choose". I wrote it all screwy..Of course I don't get to choose on the GOP side between the "alleged stalker and the ALEC fella"--so sorry for the confusion.

I live in Oregon, which has mail-in voting.  Or drop-off.  I dropped my ballot at one of the local libraries.

  •  Thank you to all who did vote yesterday. (0+ / 0-)

The Primary results were better than many expected
for Democrats, and it looks like we have several good chances to take some ground in Congress as well as several governorships.

To anyone who has not done so, I highly recommend you watch Alison Grimes's victory speech, especially beginning around 6:50 into it where she tells the truth on Mitch McConnell. If only more of our democratic candidates were as fierce as she is...

I almost feel bad for Mitch...but ya know...fuck him.
