Wow! That is a pretty darn bold statement to make. Especially here on Daily Kos. Why would I even suggest this?
Follow me below the orange squiggle if you dare.
Donald Sterling is a disgusting racist that should be forced to sell the team is a very wide held belief. But not by me...Why?
Donald Sterling has had a long history of being a racist, sexist, all around low-life. Up until his recorded comments were made public, the NBA owners looked the other way, as did most of society.
But NOW the NBA owners want him gone! NOW! Not before when I am sure he and his NBA buddies were yucking it up good in their privileged country-club atmosphere. I would put down a huge amount of money betting that he and at least some of the other NBA owners have had a few laughs at racist, misogynist jokes. And they never GAVE A RATS ASS ABOUT IT! Heck, in private I am sure at least some of them loved it!
But now that the cockroach that is Donald Sterling has come into the light, the other NBA owners NOW feel something must be done?! LOL If they had any shred of moral decency, they would have tried to ban him from the NBA (or at least fine him a lot of money) in the past. The NBA owners DO NOT GIVE A DAMN about the racist Donald Sterling, they only care about the image of the NBA. So you know what I say to the NBA owners?!!! FUCK YOU!
I WANT Donald Sterling to sue the NBA and WIN! The NBA owners deserve to be saddled with that racist POS Sterling! Sterling should be hung around their neck dragging them down!
I want the NBA owners to suffer for them dragging their feet on Sterling.
Also as for Sterling, should he keep the team, he will lose more endorsement money, also he will lose money from lost ticket and merchandise sales. Eventually he will see the money he loses will force him to sell the team later, but he will have brought down the franchise value and get even less money!
So to me, it would be fitting to see the NBA owners get their noses rubbed into the shit that is Donald Sterling's racism (as they have turned a willful blind eye to it for years), and see Donald Sterling eventually sell the team, but for even less money than he would make should he sell the team now.
