Limbaugh let it slip today that the Benghazi Special Fundraiser has nothing to do with getting "answers" because Gowdy already "knows the answers to every question he's asking," contrary to the claims of Boehner and the GOP.

Q: Four Americans died in Benghazi. Should the NRCC fundraise off of your efforts with the select committee?
Boehner: Our focus is on getting the answers to those families who lost their loved ones. Period.

The GOP claims “The goal here will be to select serious, sober-minded members who will make this about finding answers to some troubling questions and will not make this a partisan shouting match, we’re not going to convene a kangaroo court.”

RUSH:  Now, Gowdy has all these answers, by the way.  He knows the answer to every question he's asking.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

The last thing the GOP wants is to have their base start suspecting that there is no conspiracy by the White House, no coverup to be uncovered. And so, Rush preempts that line of thought by suggesting that Gowdy ALREADY KNOWS WHAT IS BEING COVERED UP! He knows the real FOX News approved truth. And by clever questioning, he will reveal the White House's misdeeds.

    since Obama was FIRST elected...

They have been taking congressional salaries under false pretense - the pretense that they would EARN it, when nothing of the sort has happened since Jan 20, 2009.

Dear GOP/T: America deserves a refund!
You haven't earned a PENNY of your salaries.
Give it all back, right now!

America's LAST HOPE: vote the GOP OUT in 2014 elections. MAKE them LOSE the House Majority and reduce their numbers in the Senate. Democrats move America forward - Republicans take us backward and are KILLING OUR NATION!

    •  dabnome - members of Congress don't have to do (0+ / 0-)

anything to earn their salaries. They don't even have to show up and vote, or hold office hours. A member who did that would likely be defeated at the next election, but members certainly don't have to draft legislation or attend committee hearings. Their compensation is earned by being elected, not for passing legislation.

Their job is to LEGISLATE - that is what they are paid for - NOT to sit around and dream up ways to suck even MORE money from their campaign contributors while obstructing legislation proposed by the party who holds the White House...

        •  Members of any legislature are certainly not (0+ / 0-)

obligated to vote on legislation or to vote yes on legislation that is favored by the executive. They have every right to forcefully advocate against legislation supported by the executive branch and the Democrats certainly did that when Republicans have held the White House. But it's important to understand that their pay is earned when they are elected, and the members are accountable to no one except the voters in their district. They don't have to actively participate in the legislative process and are free to be as obstructionist as they desire. None of that has anything whatsoever with their compensation.

          •  If we use your unique theory of employment (0+ / 0-)

then MY pay begins when I am hired, and I have NO obligation to do anything further to earn it, and yet still have a RIGHT to be paid..  That's NOT how things work in America. You're hired, you work, you get paid.

We HIRE (elect) them to WORK (legislate) - or at least SHOW THE F*CK UP in Washington and DEBATE bills that have been proposed - NOT to throw monkey wrenches into the legislative process, and stonewall the progress of legislation that has been introduced.

If Congress was doing its jobs correctly, Boehner would NOT be able to single-handedly refuse to bring Senate-passed bills to the floor of the House, just because they don't fit HIS ideological vision of what's "good for America" (meaning the GOP/T).

Perhaps I have an altruistic view of what Congress SHOULD be doing, but I bet it's the vision shared by the vast majority of Americans.

  •  Future News: (0+ / 0-)

AP — Controversial radio host Rush Limbaugh, while in the middle of an anti-Obama rant, today emitted a high-pitched squeak, slowly rolled out of his reinforced throne and slipped to the floor of his 'Excrement In Broadcasting' studio where he lay, inert, until his engineer noticed the dead air at the conclusion of a scheduled commercial.

    Chronic drug abuse is suspected.
