There are more than five senses and some people don't have them.
Some people have no sense of
time
order
sequence
direction
circumstance
environment
connection
As a result of this deficit, which is not as obvious as having no sense of sight or sound, the victims are in a constant state of confusion and fear. Whether that translates into an antagonistic and resentful attitude probably depends on how much compensating support they experienced growing up. If, for example, a person that's always late because he's got no sense of time, is punished for that lateness, instead of being reminded and kept on track by whoever in his family cares enough, then that person is going to be prepared to be punished and carry a chip on his shoulders around. Moreove, if a person never perceives the proper sequence of events and remembers everything in a jumble, then that person is pretty useless, unless or until there's someone who needs to be doing pretty much everything for someone else. There is such a thing as co-dependency. Incompetent people whose deficits we don't necessarily see are convenient sponges of consideration and care. Think Nancy ("Mommy") Reagan looking after Ron for all those years without realizing that the traits which manifest as Alzheimer's when he became physically frail had been there all along.
Politician is a good role to play for someone who needs to be kept on track. The modern day politician is a showman--akin to a showhorse with handlers and groomers and such.
Finally, strange as it seems, the sense of time seems to be connected to the sense of touch. Perhaps it's a matter of the digits not registering as separate entities, much as the two images produced by our two eyes don't register separately in the brain.
Why do we have so many of these people in all communities and climes? I'd say deficient pre-natal and obstetric care is partially to blame. Who knows what surviving a "difficult birth" does to the fetal brain? Perhaps the perception of being nearly aborted is what accounts for the persistent fear of that process of elimination.
