Bishop Harry Jackson is the far right Fundamentalist preacher that helped to lead the fight against marriage equality in Washington DC back in 2009. He wanted to have the issue put on the ballot and sued the Board of Elections regarding that attempt. The lawsuit failed as well, although he took it all the way to the SCOTUS. And, he spoke at the Family Research Council's Watchmen on the Wall conference last week. He stated that the pastors need to fight the "radical homosexual agenda" (whatever that is) and that G-d did not make anyone that way (I assume he means gay). Apparently, radical homosexuals are trying to take over the country.
From Right Wing Watch:
Jackson counselled the pastors to make sure that every lay leader in their churches can “bring a New Testament apologetic on why homosexuality is not the will of God, why God didn’t make anyone that way, and why it’s all right to speak up, speak out and keep on speaking.”
I can assure you that not all theologians, Koine Greek linguists, or Christians agree with his New Testament interpretations (or apologetic).
