People for the American Way's Right Wing Watch stumbled on a rant by Gun Owners of America leader Larry Pratt and right-wing radio host Stan Solomon about the Santa Barbara shootings. Even by wingnut standards, it's horribly offensive.
Last week, Pratt appeared on Solomon's show to discuss the shootings. Solomon actually had the gall to slam Richard Martinez for calling out the NRA for its stonewalling of gun reform laws. "You stupid son of a bitch!" Solomon yelled. "What the hell is wrong with you?" Solomon then went on to say that if Martinez' son Chris--misidentified as a daughter--had been taught to use a gun, he might still be alive.
Later in the show, Pratt suggested that Rodger's horribly misogynistic manifesto revealed a mentality very similar to that of President Obama. Pratt said that the manifesto "clearly reflects the thinking of a person like our president, who’s extremely narcissistic and it’s all about me, all about me." Any other show, this would have been the most offensive part. But Solomon's ugly smear of Richard Martinez beats it by a city mile.
PFAW got a clip--watch it here.
Disgusting--even by these yayhoos' standards. Crash Solomon's inbox--email him at feedback at CPNlive dot com and DEMAND that he apologize.
