Received this e-mail today from Senator Mary Landrieu (D. LA):
Update: The Senate is expected to vote on a crucial piece of my Passport to the Middle Class next week.
Support is building right now among my colleagues to let those who took out federal student loans before 2013 refinance at today's low rates that homeowners and businesses enjoy.
But it's unclear whether this important bill will have the votes to pass. We need to build more grassroots support right now.
Sign my petition today and show your support for college accessibility before the Senate's crucial vote on part of my Passport to the Middle Class.

A new study shows that Louisiana's per-student funding has fallen more than any other state's in the last five years, and the average debt graduates carry is $22,789.
Meanwhile, the Pell Grant now only covers about 30 percent of the cost of college, compared to almost the entire cost when it was created back in 1972.
We need to restore the original strength of Pell Grants, and we need to build support for this vote to give responsible borrowers the opportunity to refinance their student loans at the same lower prices agreed upon for new student loan borrowers this year.
We need to build support now.
