Harborview Medical Center spokeswoman Susan Gregg says a man in his 20s has died and a critically injured 20-year-old woman has been taken to surgery. Gregg says a 24-year-old man and a 22-year-old man are in satisfactory condition.
Listening to KEXP radio and they are reporting a mass shooting, at Seattle Pacific University,
no fatalities one fatality and
7 casualties 4 casualties (according to Police twitter). People are advised to stay away for now.

Update at 4:12 p.m.: Law enforcement say the gunman who shot and wounded several people at Seattle University was armed with either a shotgun or a rifle.
Update at 4:11 p.m.: Police now say there is only one suspect in the shooting at Seattle University and he is in custody.

I'll leave discussing the wider context of this to someone a bit more local. All I'll say is: I think a lot of people are running out of outrage. It's understandable, and basically down to brain chemistry: we're not evolved to stay outraged all the time... but the frequency of these events requires more outrage, not less.
