The Saturday Morning Home Repair Blog (SMHRB) is where we gather to discuss the many and varied aspects of home repair. Some here are trained professionals. Some, talented DIYers. Some, hopeless thumb-hammerers. All are welcome. Please feel encouraged to ask questions, share successes, lament sags, drips and cracks and, as always, share any advice that you have for the rest of us.

I'm on my second attempt to get this post started. I had a much better version going & lost it ! It's Sunday morning 6-1 3:23 am ! LOL
garage doors went in
on 5-16 Duke Power showed up to tell us it would take 10 working days AFTER the power is shut off to get the new service dug in. The 7 more working days to hook up a new transformer. So I said lets get it started. That was a Friday. call Duke. takes 48 hours to disconnect ! they show up Tuesday 5-20 to cut off the power.
There are several generators at DRI
the old service is taken off
I hook the generator into the panels
I turned off all the breakers & found the well first. then the radio ! :=)
Lights we need to work. & the receptacles to run our tools.
I started finding stuff to get done. I got the airline started before the power was shut off.
I welded unistrut to the trusses. I also got the line poked out into the back section.
I cut a hole in a wall we wanted.
we also removed the old back door to the building. that opening will be closed up.
Monday 5-26 the A/C duct got started. I wanted angle used. So I tested to see if the Generator would pull the welder. it did.
Tuesday 5-27 the siding crew showed up
Siding Album 2
Wednesday 5-28 the electrician shows up
put the new 400 amp disconnect in also.
the cement crew is starting to form the pads up
Friday 5-30 the cement pour started at 8:00 am
the pour stops at that door like that for two reasons.
the siding was put on FU because they were to friggen lazy to take screws out & I'm still mad at myself that I didn't fix it. There is also a septic tank there.
I'm finding time to get airlines in
here it comes out of the old building
the cross in the center of the new section
the line into the backroom

the tool I'm missing most is the bandsaw. It's 3 phase. so I have to wait till Duke gets done. that will be at least Thursday 6-12.
Still waiting for Duke to put the underground service in !
on 6-20-2013 the building looked like this !
Thanks for following my project.
the permits took almost 4 months to get complete.
