The Bible may, indeed does, contain a warrant for trafficking in humans, for ethnic cleansing, for slavery, for bride-price, and for indiscriminate massacre, but we are not bound by any of it because it was put together by crude, uncultured human mammals.

New York Times: If you had to name one book that made you who you are today, what would it be?
Hillary Clinton: At the risk of appearing predictable, the Bible was and remains the biggest influence on my thinking. I was raised reading it, memorizing passages from it and being guided by it. I still find it a source of wisdom, comfort and encouragement.
The most contradictory, dishonest, wickedest book ever written is our prospective President's
favorite tome. This, she says, is the book that made her what she is today.
Either she gets her moral guidance, like Bush, from a book written by our ignorant, primitive forebearers or she is pandering--and quite poorly, I may add. One can't help but wonder what goes through her head before she utters such shameful rubbish. This cheesy pandering is not going to convince white evangelicals to vote for her, but it most certainly will turn off those of us on the Left who are sick and tired of lame politicians trying to play us for fools.
We don't have to put up with this in 2016.
