The ceaseless braying from the rich, which we hear over and over on the very media they themselves own, is that they're THE job creators. Which is the reason, they go on to say, why they deserve big fat tax breaks for their time and trouble.
In a sense they're right, if the phrase "job creation" means "shipping jobs overseas to make fatter profits back at home."
To me, the real job creators in this country are the people who dip into their precious savings to open businesses like cute little hair boutiques, tire repair centers, used-book stores, mom-and-pop bakeries, local dry cleaners, quaint pizza joints, dog-walking services and, especially, garage-built home computers. Just sayin'.
