While most of the national media is obsessed with the 2016 presidential campaign -- will Hillary run or won't she -- we seem to have lost sight of the fact that we still have the midterm elections in November.
This is shaping up to be a very interesting year. After Eric Cantor lost his seat, it's hard to see how challengers won't feel emboldened. If he can lose, anyone can.
As a progressive, I would like to see Congressman Ted Yoho (R-FL3) go back to his vet practice. Yoho thinks voting should be limited to property owners (called voting via absentee a "travesty"), calls for a balanced budget yet none of his proposals do that and well, the list goes on and on.
Yoho as a Democratic challenger, Marihelen Wheeler. She's a Gainesville resident, teacher and environmental/ human rights activist. This is an important week for her campaign as the next filing deadline is coming up and she needs to end the quarter strong to show the national committees that she is a viable candidate. You can help Support Marihelen Wheeler.
