A few weeks ago my dad and I went on a camping trip to The Pinnacles. The Pinnacles are very interesting, so one night my dad shared some history about how 2/3 of the volcano was carried by the San Andreas Fault 195 miles in only 23 million years! Here is how it happened. The North American plate and Pacific plate crashed together and created a crack known as the San Andreas Fault, a weak spot formed a volcano. After the volcano died the San Andreas Fault broke it into parts and carried 2/3 of the volcano to Hollister.

While we were there we enjoyed bike rides, nature and hiking. We saw deer, bobcats, coyotes, turkey vultures, California condors, foxes, bats, quail, blue jays, raccoons, rabbits and wild turkeys. One night my dad and I went to throw away our garbage, when we came back there was a fox on the table and a raccoon in the fire pit. My dad scared the fox away and I scared away the raccoon. A few minutes later the raccoon came back, he kept coming back, so we decided to keep on our headlamps to scare him away.
On our way to The Pinnacles, we were passing through San Benito and on the hills was a sign that said, "Don't Frack San Benito" The hills were gorgeous. I don't see why people would want to frack those hills. If they frack the San Benito hills it will look ugly and they will be dotted with oil and natural gas wells. It will also effect the animals by invading their habitat. So life would be a whole lot harder for the animals than it is now.
On the Old Pinnacles Trail we climbed up on the highest rock we could find. This is where I took it.
We found this green rock on the beginning of our journey.
Down the trail we go.
We were going to climb those rocks but...
Bobcats and mountain lions in that area?
Father/Daughter photo!
Creepy caves
I found a lizard.
Almost done and look what we found.
What a beauty.
