What if an American corporation, "closely held" by a devout Muslim family, decided to outlaw a lunch hour for its employees during the Ramadan Fast? What if they decided that company policy was to immediately fire any employee ingesting food or drink prior to sundown? I would love to hear the bleating of the religious right in that situation. I would love to see Michelle Bachmann and Louie Gohmert and Rick Santorum and Sean Hannity on the Fox News Channel blithely rail against "Sharia Law". I would love to hear them gleefully, and without a hint of irony contradict the last 36 hours of what has been broadcast on their "news" channel.
I'm not a legal expert, but can't the SCOTUS decision be used to uphold that kind of behaviour?
