I'll bet EVERY damn ONE of these hateful protesters identifies with the Tea Party... They have no compassion not even for children, they feel no mercy, they have no shame, and I will wager that they brazenly call themselves Christian. I’m sorry but they make me sick…

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

American citizen citizens want lower immigration according to a pew poll.

The U.S. welcomes one million legal immigrants into the U.S. every year, even when the unemployment rate here is high.

There is a valid argument to be made that the U.S. cannot support the poor from the rest of the world.

I have to agree with this.  Why the hell are we bringing in more people when so many people who are already here are in dire straits?  I can understand the humanitarian impulse, especially its eagerness to help the most wretched, but I can also understand the fear and anger behind seeing some people become a cause while others with no jobs, no money, children of their own to worry about, etc. are ignored.

FYI, U3 is the low end of unemployment as it only counts people who are both not working and actively looking for work.

Domestic politics is the continuation of civil war by other means.

that the world was horrified by old white men screaming obscenities and spitting on small grade school children at Holy name school in No. Ireland. The outcry was huge and it stopped the men from doing that again.
If these old white people are going to scream at children, we need to let them know it is just not acceptable.
Somebody who twitters needs to do a hash-tag for this and get it going. These little children probably don't even understand the words being used, which is worse as they don't know why these old people are foaming at the mouth and yelling at them.
I am completely gob-smacked by what the US has become. The shame of it.

  •  And the response in Dallas Co., TX: (5+ / 0-)

Calling the situation a "humanitarian crisis," County Judge Clay Jenkins said Dallas County is prepared to house more than 1,000 immigrant children.
"I believe that every child is precious, and that regardless of your stance on immigration or the causes for this human tragedy, we cannot turn our back on the children that are already here," Jenkins said while speaking at the Texas Democratic Convention on Saturday.
Uhm, this would be Texas Democrats, LEADING, with their hearts.  And shaming the local Repubs to follow.

I of course support immigration reform and I also support border restrictions. And for those who are not genuinely facing a real threat as a refugee, I think they will have to be returned.

Having said that, I applaud Texas Democrats.  It is a humanitarian crisis and we need to do our best by these children.

Disheartening to see so many mean spirited Americans...we should be happy that people still want to come here.

I wonder when the civilized nations will begin to impose sanctions on our country for its ongoing civil and human rights abuses.

  •  Consider that we (0+ / 0-)

are a country that has gotten to where we have politicians that refuse to do their jobs , extremists have taken over, and poverty has been criminalized. Gun nuts are everywhere and shootings are common.

And yet it is still so horrible where these  people are coming from that our country looks like a good deal.

There are also politicians actually acting against the law like the Mayor that riled up these people and those that supported Bundy. I'll bet that Mayor is where they got those printouts that said the refugees were diseased.
