This morning in my mailbox I received the typical array of email from right and left leaning groups of all kind telling me what was wrong with the other side. One of those emails caught my eye, though.. it seems as though Anthony Cumia, of Opie & Anthony had been terminated by his employer. The reason: racist comments and threats in his twitter account.
SIRIUSXM terminated him, thus ending their business relationship. Who rides to his defense? Of course.. right-wingers who immediately jump in with their own racist rants and assumptions and demand that SIRIUSXM re-hire their host.

But just a minor thought for them.. if you have more than 100k fans on Twitter and you say something like:
Anthony Cumia@AnthonyCumia
I was using my arms to block her punches. As I did, she'd yell "DONT TOUCH ME!" As she punched more! I really hope she gets shot & killed
After you post a photo of her, then yeah, bad things will likely happen.
I normally say: AVOID THE COMMENT SECTION AT ALL COST. But in this case, it is a perfect example of what is happening wrong in the right wing world.

Once DrudgeReport led off with a series of articles on this, you knew what you would get.. but as right-wingers started filling up the comment section and taking to email demanding that Anthony be reinstated.. you know, his comments were only things like:
Anthony Cumia@AnthonyCumia
The switch to violence is immediate. No discussion, just violence. When will THAT be addressed? Oh, right, never. Slavery did it? Oh, ok.
And other wildly racist things, I wondered where in the constitution there is a right to a large contract with a radio network.
What made me laugh hardest about this, though, is the hypocrisy of Drudge and others sending people to go defend Anthony after his rants and open threats against the life of a person.
Because it wasn't always this way: http://articles.latimes.com/...
"Based on recent events, the 'Opie and Anthony Show' has been canceled and will be replaced by other programming beginning Friday," WNEW-FM said in a statement.
The decision to sack the disc jockeys and their highly rated afternoon drive-time show was hailed by William Donohue, head of the 350,000-member Catholic League.
"I'm delighted with the results," Donohue said. "I'm very, very happy. It is an example of corporate responsibility in an age of corporate irresponsibility."
Donohue said his group would back off its call for the FCC to pull WNEW's broadcast license and fine Infinity.
"It's over," he said. "I'm satisfied."
Ah. Insult people of faith, and the right wing will demand you be fired, pay huge fines, etc.
Tell your fans you want an African American woman to die by gunfire, and then repeatedly back it up with photos to identify the person you want dead, and your free speech is so important that a network can't fire you without destroying America.
Hypocrisy much?
