Good news, oppressed men of America! Fox News has got your back:
“When did it happen when men and husbands became doormats?” Fox & Friends co-host Steve Doocy asked a guest on Monday morning in a segment Fox News called, “Husband Appreciation: Sage Advice For Wives.”
What followed was a litany of tips for how a woman can become “the good wife” and “keep your husband happy” from Susan Patton, the so-called “Princeton Mom” who attracted considerable attention in 2013 after penning a letter to her alma mater encouraging young women spend 75 percent of their college career focused on finding a husband.
Patton's concrete advice for women was actually pretty bland:
If you're fortunate enough to have found a man to marry, respect him. Embrace the fact that you are building a life together, and be nice to him for goodness sake.
Yawn. You could apply that to pretty much anyone who is married, male or female, straight or not. But Patton really wasn't on Fox to provide advice—she was there to take a stand against the straight married women of American who are victimizing their husbands with disrespect and discourtesy:
I see it all the time. I see women who have been married for any length of time, or, you know, a significant length of time. They don't treat their husbands with courtesy, much less the respect deserving of the man you married, the man who is the father of your children.
And who is to blame for this?
Women now have become so emboldened by these antagonistic feminists that they have lost sight of the fact that this is the man you married.
Somewhere, Todd Aiken and Richard Mourdock are asking themselves: "Man, where was this woman when I needed her in 2012?"
