Syria, Iraq, Lybia, Kosovo, Rwanda, Sudan, Bahrain,.........

Why the list of Countries,

Well, there is an aspect of the threads that struck me last night,

I find myself, standing in the same general area, of the same corner of the room, on Israel/Palestine, with some of the same people I loathe, on the Syria, Lybia and Ukraine threads,

Shouting across the room at some of the people, whom I agree with, more or less, on the Syria, Libya and Ukraine threads ,.....

Continued after the Non-Martha Stewart wall art,....

In the case of one poster, he see's, for example, the Ukraine and Syria, as a legitimate case of National self expression and "our" involvement as a case of R2P,

But only for westernized Ukrainians and so called Moderate Syrians.

On Israel/Palistine, he see's it as an R2P the Palistinians from Collective Punishment, inequal force and a military, political repression of the Palestinians right to National Expression.

My take on Syria and the Ukraine, is that "The West", invited and funded attempts at illegal coups, through the NED and IRI, empowered and armed the worst political elements in those nations, (the Muslim Brotherhood and the Banderites) ,  under the crude and cynical guide of R2P.

And yet, we are on the same page on Israel/Palestine.

One of the key differences, aside from history and back stories of the Nations, is our different concepts of R2P.

On this site, off the top of my head, I can only think of one poster, who not only holds in the many threads, strong elements of a universal belief in an R2p, but is actually doing something in that vein in her personal life.

Almost all other expressions of R2P are as cynically held as they are by Western Politicians and power circles.

So, here is the question, answer if you want, but try to look deep, because others may poke and prod,

Where, and why, are you a hippocrite on the philosophy of R2P?

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
