The American justice system, long known for standing up for the rights of common people its lapdog subservience to the plutocrats, has told millions of people who need help purchasing access to healthcare to just go off somewhere and die:
A federal appeals court dealt a huge blow to Obamacare on Tuesday, banning
the federal exchange from providing subsidies to residents of the 36 states it serves.
A divided three-judge panel on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the text of the Affordable Care Act restricts the provision of premium tax credits to state-run exchanges. The two Republican appointees on the panel ruled against Obamacare while the one Democratic appointee ruled for the law.
Most Americans do not want access to adequate healthcare to be available only to those with the extra income to buy it for themselves and their families. Most Americans believe that all Americans should have adequate healthcare, regardless of whether or not they have enough money to pay the insurance companies the cold hard cash they demand in exchange for granting them such access.
But we let ourselves be ruled by plutocrats who wish to deny us that right and instead make us purchase it on the open market for the high price it is auctioned off at. Healthcare is not a right, they scoldingly and sneeringly tell us.
Healthcare is a commodity. And if we can't afford it at the rate offered, then we should just go off somewhere and quietly die.
That's what they tell us. How long will we continue to do as they say?
