With all the right wing blather about impeaching Obama I suggest we Progressives begin our own campaign to impeach Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. This is not a new idea, Thom Hartman made a case in 2012 on his radio show. But it is long past due and needs more publicity and support.

I know the House is controlled by Republicans and we would never get 67 votes in the Senate. But a highly publicized and loud call for his impeachment will send several messages. One, it would highlight the crazy that occupies this man's mind. Two, there are legitimate issues with Scalia's jurisprudence. Besides the fact that he cannot even remember his own written decisions, he has taken gifts from people with cases before the SC, has made multiple political speeches against Obama and liberals and he has met with Tea Party leaders behind closed doors. Article 3, Section I of the Constitution states, "The Judges, both of the supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold their Offices during good Behaviour..." I submit that Scalia has not exhibited good behavior. Take a look at the recent EPA decision. He got wrong a 2001 decision that he voted for himself! Meeting with and planning political steps with political leaders is hardly good behavior for a sitting Justice. Its long past due that we on the left start fighting back!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
