This is a short diary.  Ted Nugent is a stochastic terrorist.  The Nazis were stochastic terrorists.  And yes I am making a direct connection to Ted Nugent and Naziism.  This is not Godwin's Law, it is reality.

For those of you unfamiliar with stochastic terrorism I recommend Daniel Jonah Goldhagen's book Hitler's Willing Executioners.  Vermin, mongrels, life unworthy of life, subhumans were the names the Nazis used to dehumanize the Jews.  Cockroaches was the epithet of choice in Rwanda.  Despite the old adage "sticks and stones.." names really can hurt you.  Goldhagen attributes this stochastic terrorism as the main tool used by the Nazis to recruit their willing executioners.

I would like to actively do my part to end Nugent's stochastic terrorism.  If you share my fears and determination please step over the little orange wang dang doodle and see how you can help me.

On August 8 the Toledo Blade (Toledo's only newspaper) is sponsoring the 31 annual NW Ohio Riboff.  Ted Nugent is the headliner.

Mike Mori of the Blade is the promoter.  He has heard massive protest from human beings opposed to hate and violence and is unmoved.  His response is that even though he opposes Nugent's politics he will be the headliner.  Mori's strongest response to Nugent's hateful speech is to say "I wish he would just shut up."  Me too, Mike.  And I want to make him shut up.

The Blade has acknowledged the protest and claims they will publish their reasons for keeping Nugent on the bill.  Though they did not say when.  I that is an inadequate response.  And so does the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence and they have organized a petition drive.

Holy Toledo!  Let's Stop the Hate and Violence

If you would be so kind please join me and decent human beings in stopping the hate, simply sign the petition.  And let the Toledo Blade know that it is not Nugent's politics, it's the hate and violence he actively promotes.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
