Sen. Bernie Sanders told Conservatives: “If you can’t afford to take care of your veterans, than don’t go war. These people are bearing the brunt of what war is about, We have a moral obligation to support them.” February, 26th, 2014

The five Republicans in the House of obstruction, especially in paying for the wars and the long term results of, DeJa-Vu, who voted no on the still obstructed and grossly under funded needs, decades and wars from now, watered down once again, bill: Rick Crawford (Ark.), Walter Jones (N.C.), Jack Kingston (Ga.), Mark Sanford (S.C.) and Steve Stockman (Texas). Joining these Senators: Sens. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) and Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) , who had voted 'Nay' weeks back while the House delayed after!! None having any problems, Poser Patriots, in rubber stamping All the war costs, no mention of offsets, including the no bid private contracts, off the books till administrations changed and all borrowed, yet to be paid back!!

Was it Politics, to feed the Conservative 'scandal' needs especially in the Rep Miller House Veterans Affairs Committee attack hearings, or Greed Brought into VA Facilities{?} Where politics nor greed should ever cross those thresholds!!

VA reform bill clears Senate, awaits Obama's signature

July 31, 2014 - A bill to reform the beleaguered Veterans Affairs health care system cleared the Senate by a wide bipartisan vote on Thursday evening. The law now heads to President Obama's desk just before lawmakers depart for their August recess.

The $16.3 billion proposal, which passed by a margin of 91-3, includes $10 billion to allow veterans who are unable to receive a timely appointment within the VA system to seek care from outside providers. It also includes $5 billion to allow the VA to hire more doctors and nurses to handle a greater caseload, and approximately $1.3 billion to finance leases for 27 new VA facilities across the country.

The bill was the product of negotiations between the chairmen of the House and Senate veterans affairs committees. It passed the House on Wednesday by a margin of 420-5.

Republicans were pushing to allow veterans to seek care from private or non-profit hospitals outside the VA system, while Democrats were concerned with strengthening the VA's capacity to handle more patients in the future. Both sides ultimately came away with significant progress on those goals.   read more>>>

"Whatever this problem is, it didn't just start in the last two weeks," said Dave Autry, a spokesman for Disabled American Veterans. "It'd be unreasonable to assume that. Who knows what's been destroyed."

The documents, which didn't have duplicates at the VA, would have been critical in deciding veteran pension and disability claims. As a result, many veterans are asking whether their delayed or denied claims were affected by lost paperwork.  read more>>>

These present wars, Afghanistan and Iraq, after abandoning the missions and those sent to accomplish so quickly after 9/11 to invade another, have yet to be paid for!!

Now it's time to for Tea Party Republicans, All along with the rest in full support of everything under the bush, to pay a price for standing in the way of legislation, decades long time obstruction and seeking VA budget cuts, that will save veterans' lives.

Here's hoping that All that the Gen Shinseki VA administration started addressing, with full help from the Executive Administration, not only as to the present Veterans, already ignored issues, returning but the past decades and wars from ignored or denied Veterans issue's continues, and more, and those served fulfill their Responsibility, Finally, going forward. And the Conservative dream of privatizing for corporate profit, Congress then can build the needed bottom lines with bigger budgets and added fee's then, is never brought to completion!!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

‘stain on the soul of the nation’ - AMEN!

First lady calls homeless vets a ‘stain on the soul of the nation’
July 31, 2014 -  First lady Michelle Obama stressed the administration’s commitment to end homelessness among veterans Thursday and predicted that the country is on “the verge of making a major breakthrough.”

“That’s a stain on the soul of this nation,” Obama, speaking at the 2014 National Conference on Ending Homelessness, said of veteran homelessness. “As Americans, the idea that anyone who has worn our country’s uniform spends their nights sleeping on the ground should horrify us.”

A longtime promoter of better nutrition and exercise to address an epidemic of childhood obesity, the first lady has recently concentrated her efforts on the administration’s fight against homelessness among veterans. In June, she unveiled the Mayors Challenge to End Veteran Homelessness, a partnership intended to solidify the effort, and called on mayors to commit to end the condition in their communities by 2015.

Speaking to a packed audience at the Renaissance Hotel’s Grand Ballroom, Obama said she was outraged to hear that veterans who’ve served their country lack shelter when it rains.   read more>>>

What problems will Baldy from IAVA have with this? If the Obama administration is working on it, he's gonna have a problem with it.

Like a good conservative leaning head of a Veterans org., or frankly any conservative Poser Patriot doing same, on a National scale does, started and leads and reaps great compensation, like a good little reactive not pro active does, while phrasing almost everything like Veterans issued ignore for decades before never existed!!!

I've blasted, probably won't ever sink in, Rachel for her constantly bring him on her show as a spokes person for Veterans issues, her good bud. She could bring on the Legion or VFW heads and get almost exactly the same spin. She now greatly enjoying those huge tax cuts with her greatly increased, after going National on the tube, compensation herself. She does like parades though.

The only group of this generations Veterans that gets it, and understands all the fighting from us previous generations and wars of veterans are and have been doing so they won't get screwed, working somewhat, seems to be Votevets, and their more in trying to get understanding Veterans elected to help in Congress!!

what the administration hates most - liberal - but not so much the wacky side to be a Republican. Rieckhoff is allowed into the room where decisions are made, where none of us would ever be allowed.

The time has come to repair this country and care for its' veterans.

I voted Tuesday, May 6, 2014 because it is my right, my responsibility and because my parents moved from Alabama to Ohio to vote. Unfortunately, the republicons want to turn Ohio into Alabama.

Are those that took over what started because of the Wars of Choice and the so called republicans allowing Ron Paul, libertarian and still a hawk, be the single voice among them to speak out on the war funding, made them look like not all were rubber stampers to get to the links for tee time. Other factors as to libertarians as well.

And thus they All loved the bushco and everything done under him and those very willing conservative congresses. Obama gets in and bingo, they completely flip to the opposite as they wipe memoray of the bushco from them tiny brain cells that might still be working!

Will say, plenty of Dems who didn't want Obama readily picked up them tea buckets even before there was a tea party, and plenty continue carrying them!!
