From the union-busting headlines of Detroit's "liberal" press:
Pro-Israel ralliers waved Israeli and American flags and chanted “No More Human Shields.” The pro-Israel rally was in response to the anti-Israel rally, which drew a range of people and groups: Arab-Americans, Pakistani-Americans, Communists and leftists.
Let us dissect...
1. In the world of our corporate press, this was an "anti-Israel" rally. Not pro-Palestinian, just anti-Israel.
2. In the world of our corporate press, there are basically three kinds of Palestinian rights supporters: undifferentiated Arabs, Muslim sympathizers and "Communists" or, to be charitable, "Communists and leftists." And what are these agitators (who don't wave American flags the Press adds) want?
Jarah Maan, who was active in the Occupy movement, helped organize the rally.
“We want to free Palestine,” she said. “We want an end to the occupation and an end to the violence.”
Yes how radical.
Meanwhile, the Press cannot even use the word "Palestinian"when describing their prosecution by our federal government:
A judge with a history of service to the Jewish community said Thursday he won't step down from a criminal case involving a Chicago Arab-American activist charged with lying about bombings in Israel when she entered the U.S.
U.S. District Judge Paul Borman, who is Jewish, sharply criticized an effort by Rasmieh Odeh's attorneys to portray him as unsuitable for the case.

Now is that really
the whole story?
The papers filed by attorneys Michael Deutsch and James Fennerty describe Judge Borman’s “long history of support for Israel, including fundraising for, and donating millions of dollars of his own money to the state,” according to a press release from the Coalition to Protect People’s Rights, which works to mobilize support for Odeh.
For more than twenty years, Borman has donated generously — a total of $3 million — to the Jewish Federation of Detroit, an organization that prides itself on having helped send “more people to Israel each year than any other federation community in North America.”
In the Federation’s 2007 annual report, Borman is credited with initiating the organization’s first board meeting in Israel in 1996, and helping to send hundreds of Detroit residents to Israel. He is also honored as one of the “Builders of Israel” — a donor who has given more than $1 million to help “create” the State of Israel.
In 1986, Borman accompanied then US Vice President George H. W. Bush on a delegation to Israel, when the soon-to-be elected president was reportedly trying to curry favor among pro-Israel Jewish voters.
Now, I don't know if that means Borman has no business hearing the case, but it is a far cry from the reporting we see in Detroit press.
