Upendo Kids International is a christian organization intent on making children in Kenya Christian. If you donate $2900 to this Oklahoma based group, they will send some young adult to pollute the minds of innocent school kids in Kenya. While their website does its best to hide it, it pushes an aggressive and extremely conservative version of faith, preying on the most defenseless and needy kids, mainly orphans.
Here is part of their mission statement:
Tutoring the kids at Upendo Children's Home
Hygiene training
Feeding children
Preaching the gospel
Vacation Bible School
1 day of safari
1 day of shopping
Hygiene training? Ok, but is this before or after raping the kids?
Feeding children? Uh huh. Feeding them religion.
Preaching? At least they admit it.
Vacation Bible School? Seriously? They send 18-25 years olds to Kenya to read the bible?
Now we come to the key issues: Safari. Safari? Where in the bible does it suggest that you shoot defenseless and almost extinct animals for sport?
Shopping? SHOPPING? In Kenya? That is why they send missionaries to Africa? To go shopping? Now, I admit, I enjoyed Nairobi, but shopping does not quite rise to the top of my todo list there.
Now for the key part of their mission statement- tutoring kids.
Here is an example of how their missionaries tutor defenseless kids in Africa:
.
Durham was working with a program called Upendo Kids International, which sends American “missionaries” to work with orphaned and disadvantaged African children. According to Upendo’s website, $2900 “opens doors for all missionaries who are called to serve in Kenya”. It apparently also opens the door to sleeping in the “overflow bunks” at the Upendo Children’s Home. At least it did for Durham.
Durham wrote an 11 page confession, in which he details sexual abuse of at least ten children, who were between the ages of 4 and 10 years. In many instances he was able to escort them to the bathroom alone, where he admittedly carried out child rape on at least three children. He was also able to help them change clothing, watch them undress, take a little girl swimming without a top and even ‘spoon’ with one child at bedtime, nightly. His confession also describes acts such as fondling the children, forcing them to watch him touch himself, forcing them to perform oral sex on him and engaging in other sick and disgusting behaviors. These instances of abuse occurred repeatedly, over a six week period, between April 30th and June 17th, of this year

Despite strong temptations, unlike missionaries from Oklahoma, I can resist making jokes about this organization's name.
According to ABC news in Oklahoma City, Durham first admitted to the multiple crimes, then claimed satan made him do it, before claiming he had no recollection of his crimes, "if they were crimes." Finally, after consulting with his defense counsel, he threatened to burn down the house of Upendo's founder in Oklahoma, leading the judge to have concerns over his mental health.
One wonders what he and his attorney discussed.

By the way, as his story evolved, he had named his demon, Luke.
