Ark R.A.I.N. Wildlife Sanctuary
This is a series of diaries highlighting animal rescues around the country and noting and celebrating the work they do to help animals who have no voices but ours to speak for them. I have decided to make this a daily series because there are so many wonderful rescues out there who need human help and weekly just doesn't seem to be enough. I have long wanted to start a rescue but lack the resources or time available to do so right now so this is my attempt to do my part. I hope that these rescues will benefit from the kindness and benevolence of the community here at Daily Kos. They are amazing organizations and worthy of Kossack attention and care.
I am here, alive and all around you
I have no voice
In your trees, your air, your fields, your oceans, your world
I have no voice
I am a mother, a father, a protector, a soul
I have no voice
I can walk, crawl, sing, fear
I have no voice
You must be my voice

About Us

To Provide abundant love, protection, nutritional diets, natural habitats, specialized vet care, and quality rehabilitation for all of our animals. To help save rare, threatened and endangered species and the environment by increasing public awareness.
Ark R.A.I.N. Wildlife Sanctuary Inc. (ARWS)
Co-Founded by Tim and Toni Davies
Toni and I met in 1991 at my pet store in Illinois. It was love at first sight! We dated for a while but then went our separate ways. I closed my pet store and began traveling the United States to present animal education programs at schools. Toni moved so that she could study Nutrition at the University of Tennessee. We stayed in contact by phone and then married about 6 years later. I guess I’m a little slow! I moved to Tennessee to be with my bride in 1997 along with a small menagerie of exotic animals. These animals were the ambassadors of my education programs. Toni and I formed the Mobile Ark and started touring the United States together. After many years of educating the public about the rainforest destruction and the plight of endangered species, we ourselves began to learn and see firsthand the horrible things happening to animals here in the United States.

Ark RAIN Wildlife Sanctuary is still trying to recover from the devastating fire on November 19th, 2010.
Early morning, November 19th, 2010, Co-Founders Tim and Toni Davies barely escaped a horrific fire that destroyed their home and wildlife sanctuary and took the lives of many, many beloved animals. Tucker the kangaroo and Obadiah the lion, which were outside the burning buildings, sustained facial burns. They have been treated and are expected to survive. Kinkajous, birds, tortoises, a bush baby monkey, dogs, cats and many other species died in the fire. The Co-Founders home on the sanctuary premises, the offices and indoor small animal facility, along with several outside exhibits, all of the animal supplies, animal feed, feed containers, indoor exhibits, office supplies, all other equipment and the Davies personal possessions were completely destroyed. In the past, the sanctuary animals have been supported by Mobile Ark education programs featuring several Ark R.A.I.N. Wildlife Sanctuary animals. Most of the education animals perished in the fire, so help is desperately needed!!! Any help you can give in this time of need would be greatly appreciated. Please click here to help. All donations are tax deductible.
