So people tell me that Turley is a liberal. Really?
So he shows up at Pete Session's House Rules Committee to advocate that they sue Barack Obama. He says things like...
... Indeed, when President Obama pledged to circumvent Congress, he received rapturous applause from the very body that he was proposing to make practically irrelevant. Now many members are contesting the right of this institution to even be heard in federal court.”
“This body is moving from self-loathing to self-destruction in a system that is in crisis,” the law professor charged. “The president’s pledge to effectively govern alone is alarming, and what is most alarming is his ability to fulfill that pledge.
When a president can govern alone, he can become a government unto himself
What total drivel. Here is the
video.
Compare that to what he says about Rick Perry below the fold...
I view this type of dispute is more appropriately a matter for an impeachment rather than an indictment controversy. I would have serious qualms about an impeachment on this basis alone, but that would be a more obvious route than a criminal charge. Putting aside the partisan passions on both sides, the jailing of a top prosecutor raises a legitimate question of her competence to continue in office.
So Republicans taking Obama to court for implementing the Affordable Care Act in the best manner possible is fine. But when it comes to Rick Perry violating a statue then a court isn't appropriate. Even though there is a statue on point, the judge is Republican and so is the prosecutor.
You know one of these proceeding is purely partisan and one isn't. Why is the purely partisan proceeding fine and the other not fine?
By the way, there have been two other DAs who were jailed for DWI in Texas. Both Republicans. One a two time offender. Anyone remember any threats about them from Rick Perry? No, I didn't hear anything either.
What is up with Turley?
