I'm represented in the Missouri House by Denny Hoskins (R-54).  The district is 60-70 miles east of Kansas City in what is called outstate Missouri. He will be the Speaker Pro Temp in the next session.

He has taken to Twitter today to share what he has learned from Fox News.  They are a model of the defense for Wilson, the cop who killed Michael Brown, and show the local Republican attacks on Nixon, the Governor.

See how Ferguson is now going to be talked about in the political sphere in Missouri and, probably, nationally.

First, Nixon called for the "vigorous prosecution" in the shooting of Brown.  That lead to this tweet from my representative:

I'm not a lawyer, but I have enough common sense 2 know Gov. Nixon should not be calling for a vigorous "prosecution" http://twitchy.com/...
No, he isn't a lawyer and Nixon is.  Here are the meanings of prosecution on dictionary.com:
noun
1.
Law.  a.the institution and carrying on of legal proceedings against a person.
b.the body of officials by whom such proceedings are instituted and carried on.
So Nixon used the term EXACTLY as it is used in the law.

However, my representative isn't finished and tweets:

I 2 want justice in Ferguson. However,I believe U R innocent until proven guilty & want Gov. Nixon 2 believe the same http://www.foxnews.com/...
This one is interesting.  I wonder why my representative didn't  tweet this notion of justice when the police released the video of Brown allegedly stealing cigars, which, as we all know, had nothing to do with the encounter with the cop.

And, my representative's final tweet today is:

Missouri cop was badly beaten before shooting Michael Brown, says source via the @FoxNews iPhone app  http://www.foxnews.com/...
This one is easy. The Fox News story is one of those "well-placed story" stories.  Here is the first paragraph:
Darren Wilson, the Ferguson, Mo., police officer whose fatal shooting of Michael Brown touched off more than a week of demonstrations, suffered severe facial injuries, including an orbital (eye socket) fracture, and was nearly beaten unconscious by Brown moments before firing his gun, a source close to the department's top brass told FoxNews.com.
Of course, if Wilson really was badly beaten, there would be pictures showing all of those terrible injuries. The hospital can't show them and it strange the Ferguson PD hasn't either.

However, we have some pictures immediately after the shooting.  Go here for Piaget Crenshaw's interview on CNN and her video of Davis with a colleague after the shooting.

Crenshaw is not very close, but there is no obvious blood on Wilson.  If he was so badly beaten, it is curious that his colleague does not offer any assistance for those "severe facial injuries." Look at that film again. Who are YOU going to believe: Fox News or your own lying eyes?

Remember we are all innocent until proven guilty -- unless you are a black man killed by a cop and ANYTHING he did before that can, and apparently will, be used to show he had it coming.

My Representative didn't have to tweet any of these statements, but he did.  I think his tweets show the his need to show the crazies in his party that he is still one of them.

I'm not a psychologist, but I have enough common sense to know my rep, a leader in the Missouri House, is crazy.

{Edited to correct the name of the officer involved in the shooting.]

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
