Received this e-mail today from VoteVets in support of Daily Kos endorsed candidate, Ruben Gallego (D. AZ-07):
In five days, Democrats in Arizona's 7th Congressional District will vote in a contested primary to replace long-serving Congressman Ed Pastor.
One of the candidates is Ruben Gallego, an Iraq War Veteran who signed up to serve as VoteVets' Arizona State Director in 2007. He is also the embodiment of the American Dream: the child of immigrants, he was the first in his family to attend college and gave back to his country through military service.
Ruben is a young veteran, unabashedly progressive, and holds a ten point lead heading into Tuesday's election. Let's help put him over the top before the polls close.
Before Get Out the Vote Weekend, rush your $5 contribution to Iraq War Veteran Ruben Gallego's campaign.

Ruben has faced a few shameful attacks from his primary opponent - including an attempt to remove him from the ballot because he changed his last name to honor his single mother. Those efforts failed.
More importantly, Ruben stood with veterans during his time in the State House: passing legislation that did away with burdensome regulations which prevented many veterans from receiving in-state college tuition, after returning from overseas.
He'll be a great, progressive advocate in the House of Representatives. Help him get there with your contribution today.

We endorsed Ruben's campaign right after he announced. Now he's in the lead with just a few days to go. Thanks for pushing him across the finish line.
