The print edition of the Scottsbluff (NE) Star-Herald (I cannot find it in the on-line edition) reports that Governor Matt Mead (R-Wyo.) has defeated Dr. Taylor Haynes and Superintendent of Public Instruction Cindy Hill in the Wyoming Republican Primary.
(Wyoming news is a large portion of the news in the Nebraska Panhandle: this area is known by a nickname: Wyobraska.)

Governor Mead said he won by focusing on his record and refusing to float negative campaign strategies.
The Star-Herald also notes he says he is looking forward to the race against Democratic candidate Pete Goser.
As the newspaper notes, Republicans hold a three-to-one advantage in registrations over Democrats, and hold every statewide elected office.
In Tuesday's primary, Mr. Goser ran unopposed.
Goser has criticised Governor Mead's opposition to the Affordable Care Act, which he says would allow Wyoming to expand Medicaid coverage to 17,600 working Wyoming adults.
Cindy Hill (goes to Wikipedia) attacked Governor Mead directly during the primary campaign over his efforts to remove her as the Superintendent of Public Instruction. After Governor Mead signed legislation to remove her, she sued him. (Her position is an elected one, and she sued on the grounds that Wyoming voters had the right to have who they elected as their Education Department head.)
That was quite a flappadoodle here: he accused her of creating a hostile work environment, and the legislation stripped her of most duties, rendering her office mostly a ceremonial one. The Wyoming Supreme Court declared the bill unconstitutional. The Wikipedia article describes the controversy, including the perception by employees that she was demanding a loyalty oath from them.
Dr. Haynes ran on a campaign to "run the Federal government out of Wyoming." He said the state would prosper if it did not have to share its mineral wealth with the Feds. Mead countered with the belief that Dr. Haynes's approach was unconstitutional and politicians had to deal with reality, not how they wished things to be.
According to the Secretary of State's Website, the results were:
Republican:
Matt Mead: 53,673
Taylor H. Haynes: 31,534
Cindy Hill: 12,463
Various Write ins: 215
Democratic:
Pete Gosar: 15,288
Various Write ins: 507
The site also lists "over" and "under" votes: I am not sure what those are (they were not significant in the counts).
