I could not sleep last night. I went to bed around 1 am, woke up about 5:30 and could not get back into it. I was a bit sore, had extra work this week, so maybe I overdid things a bit (what, me?).

Of course, sleep, along with food, exercise, economic class, health, medications, drinks, sombreros (yes, sombreros, if you're referring to the drink made with Kahlua and cream), and just everything nowadays is related to obesity.

Let's talk over the orange vapor, shall we?

Daily Kos Weight Loss is a community at Daily Kos dedicated to weight loss, maintenance, and support. As with all communities, trolls are calorie-free and will be munched should they engage with us. Please feel free to jump, jog, skip, dive, or walk in.

Some days, I get overwhelmed, and not by the events in the larger world, either. It's often just by the constant stream of "information" when it comes to weight loss, maintenance, and general fitness. Let's be honest here, can one night of missed sleep really make me get the fats again? Probably not. Not only do I have you to hold me accountable, but the fact that I worked so hard to lose, the new clothes I love, the husband, the family, and how good I've felt all will keep me on track.

Weight loss and maintenance don't have to be that hard, do they? I don't think the latest weight loss news has to change things that much for me. Or for you. If what you're doing actually works for you, that won't stop because a limited study funded 98% of the time by industry shows that it doesn't.

So today I'm giving everyone on the Internets and off them permission to ignore the latest studies, the supplement just coming on the market, the gurus and gadgets coming out to make your life "easier" by doing something you can already do with a kitchen knife.

However, I would encourage you to do searches of random works plus obesity. The results can surprise you! I didn't know there was such a thing as a sombrero drink. I hope it's served with a big hat covering it. 'Cause that would be awesome.

143 on the scale today. But no worries. I did 55 minutes of walking yesterday at 4.5 miles per hour...see why I got tired? :) Hope all is well in your world.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
