LGF, who early on debunked the "broken eyesocket" nonsense, shows just how far conservatives went to invent that lie.
The short of it? A right-wing blogger used a generic CT scan found online and claimed it was a scan of Darren Wilson. And how clumsy was this lie? Well, he first posted this:
It was PROOF that Michael Brown was a thug who beat Officer Wilson nearly senseless, so the cop had no choice but to
murder kill the teen in self defense! Well, except that pesky "UNIV OF IOWA" marker on the lower right-hand corner. Obviously, Ferguson is nowhere near Iowa. One hundred and seventy-one miles, to be exact. So people might discover the hoax. So this conservative did what every good propagandist does: he tried to erase the evidence. Literally:
Well, that fixed THAT problem! So it was bullshit, and it was easily debunked bullshit, but hey, Fox News and Ann Coulter and
Washington Post and many others ran with it, so now you have people running around lamenting poor Wilson's fractured eyesocket and tsk tsk Michael Brown
deserved what he got. In other words, mission accomplished!
