Really. It sucks being one of only a handful of Democrats up here in the Morongo Basin of the Mojave Desert. There are secret sympathizers, I know, but few in this deep deep red district will admit to an admiration for equality and tolerance, for government infrastructure and services or a willingness to pay a fair share of their income in order to pay for a civilized, educated public.
There are a lot more of us down in the Low Desert communities of the Coachella Valley. There must be; in 2012 the Coachella Valley sent Raul Ruiz to DC as their Congressional Representative.
