Over the course of 2014, I've become so focused purely on ACA-related stories (and my own site) that I've been out of the loop re. most other issues.
I know there's been a lot of I/P anger and so forth of late, and of course the Hillary Rox/Hillary Sux flareups, but I haven't really paid most of it much mind.
Then, just a few minutes ago I discovered that a prominent member of the dKos community thinks that I have "utter contempt for humanity" and have "little value for universal ethics".
Huh. Somehow I suspect my wife and my 8-year old son would disagree, as would all the folks (including many here at dKos) who have shown so much support for the ACA Signups project over the past 10 months.
Call me crazy, but generally speaking, those with "utter contempt for humanity" don't usually devote time & resources to helping promote universal healthcare.
For the record: Yes, I'm Jewish, but that's mostly cultural/social; on a personal level I'm pretty much an atheist...or possibly an agnostic. Not sure which (which I guess is kind of the point...)
That is all.
Update: Good heavens. Really didn't think this one would get Rec'ced. Very flattered, but I want to clarify: I'm not feeling unloved or anything. You guys have been absolutely awesome, and I owe you more than I can possibly say (not just for the fundraiser Kos ran last spring, but for all the recs, tips, links and words of support).
My point is simply this: I have no idea what the religious breakdown of dKos is (I know TPTB run a demographic survey once in awhile), but I'm sure that atheists/agnostics make up a higher-than-typical percentage. BBB certainly knows this, and also knows that for the most part the dKos community cares deeply about helping people, healing the planet, justice and so forth. Y'know...humanity, ethics and all that jazz.
Why on earth he would've said something like that is beyond me. I'm not "offended" because I don't even understand what was going through his mind.
