Welcome to Street Prophets Sunday All Day Brunch. This is an open topic thread so help yourself to the goodies and let us know what is new with you. I have had pooties in my life for a long time. One thing I have discovered is that it doesn't matter what I think I am going to name them they pretty much decide themselves what they want to be called.
Zonker
Zonker was originally called Beowulf because I thought it would be funny to have a cat named that. However every time we looked at him he was asleep or zonked out. So his nickname became Zonker. I had to actually purchase a box of
Screaming Yellow Zonkers because my Mom refused to believe that there was a snack food named that.
Sasha
Sasha's full name was Sashiko D'Artagnan. I got him around the time of the Richard Lester's
The Three Musketeers with Michael York. I still have a crush on him and love that fact we have the same birthday.
Casper
Casper was already named when I got him. He was around the ten at the time. The name of course fit him and he redefined the word mellow.
Merlin
I got Merlin when he was four weeks old. He was at the shelter and part of a litter that had been abandoned by the mother cat. When I knew I was going to be able to take him home he looked up at me and let me know his name was Merlin. It might have been influenced by the Hallmark
Merlin show with Sam Neil.
Pixie
The current mistress of the house in Pixie. She was my Mom's cat and Mom wanted to call her Snickerdoodles. Mike and I vetoed that immediately. It was so obvious that the little scamp's real name was Pixie.
How about you? How did your animals come by their names?
And of course in true Street Prophets spirit what's for dinner?
