ISIS/ISIL/Islamic State is great news for Republicans who want to talk about Benghazi,
reports opines The Hill:
The rising threat from Islamic extremists has set the stage for Republicans to make a splash with the launch of their Benghazi investigation next week.
The media glare had largely fallen away from the probe into the terror attack on U.S. facilities in Benghazi, Libya, that left Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans dead.
But with the second anniversary of the attack looming on Thursday, and a new book by U.S. security contractors claiming a CIA station chief ordered them to “stand down” during the assault, the start of the investigation into Benghazi is poised to become a major event.
So, no matter that
the book is bunk and that the only way you could stop Republicans from talking about Benghazi is if you could convince Bill Ayers to take a paternity test, Benghazi is going to be extra-super-duper big next week. Huge, I tell you.
And Republicans simply cannot stop gloating:
U.S. Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (R-Grantville) addressed the Benghazi investigation and terrorist organization ISIS among other topics Saturday morning at the Cobb County GOP breakfast at its headquarters. […]
“I’m not going to stand here and confirm or deny anything,” Westmoreland told the crowd. “Our job is to figure out the truth.”
Westmoreland spent much of his speech criticizing Democrats. “I think our enemy stands on 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.,” Westmoreland said to loud applause.
Yeah! Exactly. If there's one thing Republicans have learned from Benghazi ... it's that Barack Obama is the enemy. They are genius investigators, I'm telling you. And
next Wednesday at 10 AM we're going to see exactly how smart they are.
